Hi and welcome to my web site! I am Aunt Liz and I love telling and writing children's stories. Is Aunt Liz my real name? Well, for a few it is - I am a real Aunt Liz to my nephews and some close family friends. But, I love stories and I love being an Aunt, so I decided to be Aunt Liz for all my children's stories. (My real name is Elizabeth Leary.) I have been telling children's stories since my first daughter could understand all the imaginary people and places that live in my head, just waiting to pop out. That's over six years ago! A long time before sharing my first book with you!
I had a great childhood growing up in suburban Philadelphia filled with imaginary adventures. Books and stories were very much part of my youth. My Dad made up stories to tell my brother and me all the time. He loved to read to us! We loved being read to! From the stories I heard, I made up my own imaginary adventures full of magic, dragons, and daring-do, with me as the heroine (of course). My favorite place to play was outside in the woods behind our house. There, I became a great adventurer and explorer. I love all holidays, but Halloween was and still is one of my favorites. I really played make-believe then, pretending to be anyone or anything my imagination made-up.
As a grown-up, I studied science. I like science very much, especially biology, which is the study of life. But, I never stopped loving stories and I never stopped making them up. When I met my husband, he encouraged me to do what I always dreamed of doing - writing my stories down. I started writing grown-up stories over 14 years ago.
Now, I have a husband, two daughters, and one cute doggie named Petunia Bow. We all enjoy stories - making them up, telling them, reading them, and now, writing them. Enjoy all the wonderful stories in your own imagination. Tell them to your parents, or siblings, or grandparents. Sharing a story is one of the best things you can do with family and friends!
